Vintage 9.5" Auburn Hair Hungary Composition &Cloth Tourist Ethnic Doll 1930s-on

Description

This lovely, vibrant nearly 9 1/2" composition and cloth doll with bright auburn floss braids is lavishly dressed in authentic ethnic costuming.  She was manufactured in Hungary circa the late 1930s-on, I believe. The interior back of her rayon yellow-gold skirt is labeled "Made in Hungary."  Her composition (paper mache ?) face is vibrantly painted and attached to a solidly stuffed cloth body with wire jointed arms and legs
(left leg a tad longer than her right leg)
.  She is dressed in ornate provincial Hungarian costuming sewn from bright rayon, lace, and braided trim.  She still wears her ornate floral headpiece that is missing one paper flower along its right side.  The red felt "booties" on her feet are fraying along their upper edges.  Hungarian doll remains in bright and clean condition with minimal soil and wear.  More notably discolored and gently stained is her cream-colored organdy blouse.  She smells dusty from age.
In her detailed costuming, Hungarian doll remains a lovely tribute to an earlier culture that is fast fading.  Similar dolls were sold through the Kimport catalog.
